(:groupheader:)'''''Don't update this page, it has moved to [[http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=QuickStart.CaptureSourceOptions gbpvr.com]] where you may update it instead.''''' <:vspace> !!!Setting up a capture source <:vspace> After installing GB-PVR the Config application will start automatically. Most of the settings will be defaults that will be fine on your machine, but there are a few things you'll need to do. <:vspace> Attach:configGeneral.jpg <:vspace> The first thing you should do is setup a capture source. Head to the Capture Sources tab and click the "Add" button. You should now see the screen below. <:vspace> Attach:createCaptureSource.jpg <:vspace> If you have a Hauppauge PVR250/350/USB2 device, Provideo PV258/259 or other Conexant Ibased capture device you should select the "Direct Recording Plugin" option for the Recording Source. (See Manual/ConfigDefineSource for more info about these settings.) <:vspace> Next, click the Recording Source Settings button and ensure all the settings match your environment (e.g. New Zealand, S-Video input etc). <:vspace> Attach:directRecordingConfig.jpg <:vspace> If you are in the USA or Canada, you'll want to select Zap2it Plugin as the EPG source. For users in other parts of the world, you'll need to choose the XMLTV Plugin, see Manual/{{EPG}}. (See Manual/ConfigImportTvGuide for more info about these settings.) <:vspace> After selecting an EPG source, you should click the settings button to configure the EPG settings. <:vspace> Attach:zap2itConfig.jpg <:vspace> If you are using an external tuner, you can also configure a Channel Changer plugin to control the external tuner. There are several options available. I recommend using the USB-UIRT IR Blaster, as it seems to be good piece of hardware that performs reliably. (See Manual/ConfigChannelChanger for more info about these settings.) <:vspace> When you are happy with these settings, select OK until you are returned to the main Config application screen. <:vspace> <|{{QuickStart.QuickStart}}|>(:groupfooter:) <:block>
